Best Applicant Tracking Systems

Applicant tracking systems compared for in-house teams and agencies: Zoho Recruit, Breezy HR, Manatal, CoRecruit — plus assessments and screening.

An applicant tracking system is where a hiring process either becomes visible or stays in somebody’s inbox. The market is crowded and the products look interchangeable in a demo, so the useful question is not which has more features but which matches how your team actually hires.

How to choose one

The single biggest fork is whether you are an in-house team hiring for your own company, or an agency hiring for other people’s. Those are different products wearing similar names — agency work needs client records, submissions and placement tracking that in-house tools do not have, and in-house work needs hiring-manager collaboration that agency tools treat as an afterthought.

  • How many roles are open at once? Below about five, an ATS earns its keep through candidate experience and reporting, not pipeline management.
  • Will hiring managers log in? If the honest answer is no, collaboration features are worth nothing and email integration is worth a great deal.
  • Where do your candidates come from? Job-board integrations and career-site quality matter more than screening AI for most teams.
  • What does the data look like on the way out? Ask about export before you sign, not when you leave.

The shortlist

Tool Best for Current offer
Zoho Recruit In-house teams already using Zoho; agencies on the agency edition $100 wallet credits (60 days)
Breezy HR Small in-house teams wanting a clean pipeline fast 14-day trial + 100,000 Breezy Intelligence credits
Manatal Agencies and staffing firms needing ATS plus recruitment CRM 14-day trial, no card required
CoRecruit Agency recruiters losing hours to call notes and CRM updates Free trial + 25% off annual

Zoho Recruit

Candidate tracking from application through interview to offer, with separate editions for in-house teams and for staffing agencies — which is more than most vendors at this price offer.

Best for: Teams already running Zoho, and agencies who want the agency edition without enterprise pricing.
Worth knowing: As with the rest of the suite, the value case leans heavily on being inside the Zoho ecosystem already.
Current offer: $100 in wallet credits, valid 60 days. Claim the offer →

Breezy HR

A drag-and-drop hiring pipeline with the automation most small teams actually want — scheduling, templated messaging, scorecards — and a career site that does not look like it was built in 2011.

Best for: In-house teams of one to five recruiters who want to be running properly within a week rather than a quarter.
Worth knowing: Depth runs out at enterprise scale. If you need complex approval chains or multi-entity reporting, look higher up the market.
Current offer: 14-day free trial plus 100,000 Breezy Intelligence credits. Claim the offer →

Manatal

An ATS with a recruitment CRM attached, which is the combination agencies need and most in-house tools omit. Candidate enrichment and AI-assisted matching sit on top of a conventional pipeline.

Best for: Staffing agencies and RPO teams managing candidates and client relationships in the same system.
Worth knowing: The AI recommendations are a starting point, not a shortlist. Treat them as one input among several — including your own reading of the CV.
Current offer: 14-day free trial, no credit card required. Claim the offer →

CoRecruit

Formerly Quil. It sits across recruiter calls — video, mobile and VoIP — and writes the notes and CRM updates that recruiters otherwise do at seven in the evening or never.

Best for: Agency recruiters whose ATS is perpetually out of date because updating it is the least appealing part of the day.
Worth knowing: It complements an ATS rather than replacing one, so it is an additional line on the budget, not a substitute for anything.
Current offer: Free trial plus 25% off the annual plan. Claim the offer →

It does not decide what appears here. Tools are listed because HR teams ask about them, and each entry says what the tool is weak at as well as what it is good for. A directory that only ever praises is an advertisement, and HR buyers can tell the difference.
